Hi, it’s Stevie. 

And the reason for this episode – it’s short and sweet –  is to let you know that my business, and this podcast, is pivoting.

My name is Stevie Says Social for a reason.

For the past two years, I have focused on helping small businesses lift their social media game. 

Facebook Ads, Instagram, Algorithms and more.

That’s been my jam.

But for the past little while, I’ve had itchy feet.

You see, when I started this gig, I was still a corporate employee working for the man.

I knew that there was more that I wanted to do with my life, but I had zero idea where to start.

So, I wrote a blog post.

And then another. 

And another.

Soon, people started to take notice.

My social media following grew, and other businesses started asking how they could grow like I was, and whether I could help them.

So, I quit my job and started a business.

I managed social media accounts, and learnt everything I possibly could about online marketing.

One day, I decided to stop writing blogs and instead start a podcast.

That podcast? Launched at the top of the Business Charts, and suddenly everyone wanted to learn more about what I was doing. They were wild time, my audience was exploding and so was my influence in my competitive little industry.

I stopped managing accounts.

I went to Bali, packaged my signature social media framework into an online course, and called it Hashtags Aren’t the Answer.

That course? Well, it launched with over 120 students in the pilot round and netted over $130,000 in a single week.

And, just like that, my life changed forever. 

Since then, I’ve grown that program, launched others and built a rock solid online course business teaching what I love. 

I have spent many late nights, coffees and wines figuring things out, trialling, failing and improving. 

All of that hard work, though? 

Has gotten me here, to this point in time right now.

Today I work from home with my baby boy and my partner Jules.

My online business has truly given me the life I so craved both working in corporate and as an overworked, underpaid freelance service provider.

Time freedom.

Location freedom.

And freedom to do with my life what I want, when I want.

Now? 

I want this for more people like the old me.

The opportunities given to us by the Internet, to work online and create a life and business doing what you love, have never existed before.

All you need is a wifi connection, some strategy and a little spoonful of courage and you can create for yourself, well, anything you want.

With the COVID-19 world shutdown, we’re learning that employment and a J-O-B isn’t necessarily the ‘safest’ option anymore. In any event, employment has always freaked me out a bit. It’s hard to imagine putting all of your blood, sweat and tears into a company day in, day out – whether you love it or not, and for the record, most people very sadly do NOT – with nothing to show for it at the end of the day other than a wage. If you’re in business, you’re generally just working to make other people rich. 

If you’re a freelancer or a service provider, it’s kinda the same – only you have multiple bosses and generally very little time because you’re either capped out or madly hustling for more work. 

And so, my mission is now so clear.

I love online business. I’m obsessed with it.

And I want to impact thousands of others to follow in the same footsteps I have.

Starting a podcast, and helping people with beautiful free advice.

Building an audience of people that know you, like you and trust you.

And providing those people with a signature online course to help them, which in turn creates a business for you that impacts many more people than you could if you were focused on swapping time for money, that gives you an earning potential that is genuinely uncapped and that allows you to work on your own terms. 

My mission is to help as many people as possible create an online business that changes their life.

And so, helping people to do just that is the new focus of this podcast.
